Yes!!!!! No, It’s easy to learn.
I have been learning piano since I was 5… and now I’m 18.
Some people say that I’m really good, but I’m still learning as well.
I just started teaching a few of my friends piano, and now they are getting a hang of it too.
If you can read music notes, then yes, it won’t be hard to learn and you can be great with practice.
One of my best friends just started to play piano about 3-4 years ago, and now he is already playing at professional recitals. Just because I got him hooked onto playing it.
The piano is a beautiful instrument!
Go ahead and learn!
Learning the basics is easy enough but after that you need to have a passion for the music your playing to spend the countless hours of practice needed to become a player that people will want to listen to.
Piano is one of the easiest instruments to play, and one of the hardest instruments to play well.
Since you can read music, I don’t think getting started would be very difficult for you. You’ll get the hang of left-right hand coordination pretty easily with some practice. If you want to just play some pop tunes as a hobby, go for it, the road ahead is not difficult. If you’re hoping to play serious classical, then it will take years to build up technique and musicality, even after talent is factored in.
Good luck! Piano is a fabulous instrument.
Compared to other instruments, yes, you shouldn’t find it too hard. If you can already read music that will also make it a lot easier. As long as you get the right hand positions and practice consistently I’m sure that you’ll be fine.
(I’ve been playing the piano for 10 years)
Two years of choir and you “know music and all” I think you should definitely take piano… because at the very least you’ll find out whether you do “know music and all.”
Frankly, there will be little that you can carry over from your choral escapades.
I’ve been playing the piano for around ten years now, and in the beginning it’s a bit difficult, but once you know the basic theory which you might know already if you’ve been in choir, then you will have a much better grasp on learning the piano. The harder the pieces, the harder the theory will be, but the longer you play, the easier it’ll get to learn new concepts, hope that helped
